Hamble Valley Rotary December News

Christmas Shoebox Appeal
Every year, Hamble Valley Rotary organise the collection of Shoe Boxes from local schools. Yes, shoe boxes but with a difference : they are filled with suitable items for children in disadvantaged situations to brighten up their Christmas!

A big thank you to the children (and their parents) in our area who continue to be very generous with their donated items and are proud to be involved in a project that benefits less fortunate children in the world.

The items are for education, health and hygiene purposes, for example : school equipment, hats, gloves and scarves, socks, toiletries and sport items and of course TOYS! to fit in a standard shoebox. Grown ups are also welcome to fill a box, not just pupils ! So get ready next October if you want to take part in this good cause.
Take a look at www.rotaryshoebox.org and you will see the happy faces of the children opening their boxes and discovering their gifts! Consult our website : www.hamblevalleyrotary.co.uk and our Facebook page.

The Carol Float will be touring the streets in and around Botley and Hedge End with Father Christmas and his elves collecting funds for local causes. Thank you for your continuous generosity. Santa is very touched by the smiles from the little ones as well as the parents and grand-parents who all look forward to seeing him!

Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year !
