Bishop’s Waltham Cricket Club

Bishop’s Waltham Cricket Club is a successful and dynamic ClubMark accredited club situated on the outskirts of Bishops Waltham. Founded in about 1770, the club now has many active teams.

We have four teams in The Hampshire Cricket League: 1st team: HCL County Division 1,  2nd team: HCL County Division 3, 3rdteam: HCL Regional Division 2: 4th team in RD4 . We also have an Evening League side, a Sunday Friendly X1, 2 teams in the Winchester & District Winter Indoor League and 4 colts teams – U9, U11, U13 and U15.

Our home ground, Albany Road, is an award-winning ground, in a tranquil setting and has grass pitches, an artificial wicket, 2 outdoor practice nets, club room and bar.

The overall facilities have been rated as ‘Good’ by visiting league captains and we regularly host junior county and district games, including disability cricket.

In 2013, the ground was used by the Australian Cricket team for training prior to playing tour matches against Gloucestershire and Somerset.

Training is held for all ages indoors from January to March, then outdoors, at Albany Road, during the summer. Currently, adult training takes place at Albany Road on Tuesday evenings from 6pm until dusk.

The club has many affiliations to various organisations including The Hampshire Cricket League and The Hampshire Cricket Board. For 20 years the club has organised a ‘Kwik-Cricket’ tournament for local junior schools and has hosted the competition at Albany Road.

Spectators are always welcome and may use our bar facilities. Matches are scheduled every Saturday and on many Sundays during the summer. Our third team play at Swanmore recreation ground.

We welcome potential players, volunteers and sponsors and if you would like to get involved with Bishop’s Waltham Cricket Club, please do not hesitate to contact us.
