Festive Performances in the Meon Valley


With a large variety of amateur dramatic performances this time of year, it can be quite overwhelming when deciding what to go and see with the family. Here are some of our favourite performances going on in and around the Meon Valley over the festive period, which we hope will narrow down your search.

Blackbox Theatre Company: The 39 steps
Friday 15 November
Following the enormous success of their award winning play, Bully Beef & Whizzbangs last year, BlackBox Theatre Company return with a stunning new adaptation of John Buchan’s classic ripping yarn, The 39 Steps. If there weren’t enough twists in the tale, BlackBox present this story of daring do as a live radio drama. The 39 Steps: A Live Radio Drama is an affectionate take on one of our best loved stories. West Meon Theatre: Daisy Pulls It Off
Thursday 21 – Saturday 23 November

Directed by Suzanne Hall. Energetic Daisy Meredith, a girl from a poor background, is forced to face and overcome snobbish prejudice and schoolgirl pranks from the wealthier girls. She and her best friend, zany Trixie Martin, search for the missing treasure that could save the fortunes of the exclusive Grangewood School for Young Ladies. Along the way, Daisy overcomes false accusations, saves the lives of her enemies and discovers that the mysterious stranger seen around the grounds is her long-lost father. Soberton Players: Made in Dagenham – The Musical

Rehearsals are well underway in perhaps what is Soberton Players most ambitious production to date! Curdridge Amateur Dramatic Group: Aladdin
