“It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life – for Me and I’m feeling good” are the wonderful lyrics of Michael Buble’s song and they ring so true for the start of this brand New Year 2019.
“Feeling good” that’s what we are after, “feeling good” is what matters, it’s what gives us strength, it lets us enjoy life with all its facets! Bring it on, we say!
Yet, how do we get to this state of “feeling good”?
Well let me share my own experience with you: Life continues to be very full for me, full of life’s challenges. Yet, what keeps me going and what gives me strength is, that I have Dancing & Yoga in my Life.
Even in the most challenging moments in my life, I kept on dancing – I teach Dance & Yoga and this is how I make my living, so there is no letting up. Yet, it always surprised me, how ever low I felt – on the dance floor I came alive. Dancing lifted my spirits and I so enjoyed our Dance Classes and they were filled with Joy and Laughter no matter what. And it is not being fake, it is just what happens when you dance – it is natural.
Mental Health is a big Topic at the moment and it absolutely effects every age group. I have heard of children as young as six being diagnosed with suffering from depression…and the queues to get seen by CAMHS are immensely long and speaking from experience, the results frankly not very encouraging…
Yet, there are simple ways of how we can help our children and help ourselves: with Dancing and Yoga. Yoga has had the most profound effect in my life. As well as giving me an outer strength, it has given me amazing inner strength and resilience, so I feel ready “to weather any storm in life!”
You see, I’ve been there, done that, got the t-shirt! And I know what works, what makes us “feel good”. And from this experience our repertoire of Dance and Yoga Classes has grown over the last 10 years and it is a joy to see what a difference Dancing and Yoga has made in the lives of our Dance and Yoga Friends that have joined us over the years.
