Wessex Sculptors are a group of sculptors of all levels of experience based in Hampshire. The group was set up in 2003 in a large black barn in beautiful countryside. It is now a well equipped studio with a lovely outdoor working space.
We inspire and help each other and have a sculptor in residence, John Souter, to give support and advice.
Members work in a wide variety of methods and materials, from modelling in clay, plaster, wire and ciment fondu to wood and stone carving, brazing metal and casting in resins.
As a registered charity, we run workshops within the local community. We welcome interest from anyone who would like to join us and are always delighted if private galleries are interested in exhibiting our work. If you would like to join us for a morning, we offer free introductory sessions to the Wessex Sculptors group, which are a good way of seeing our sculptors in action and the wide variety of methods and materials used. Hopefully this will inspire you to join our group.
There are also regular workshops open to non-members and members, enabling you to try out some techniques. To find out more and for further information on individual artists’ work or our workshops, please email to: [email protected]
